About Kirk's Enterprise |
| First of all, yes, my name is Jim Kirk, just like the captain on Star Trek... and no, my middle name is not "Tiberius"! Now, a little about our business... We had our humble beginnings working with a manual engraver in a room about the size of a walk-in closet. My father, James P. Kirk, had purchased the engraver as a hobby and made name tags for the school he worked for and the Naval Reserve Unit he served in. In 1984, I had come as far as I could in the restaurant industry and thought that maybe by providing the same service ideals in a product market I could make something of this name badge business. So, with a box of business cards and a small yellow pages advertisement I gave it a try. The first few years were definitely lean ones but as we expanded into screen printing and increased our product line to fit our customers' needs, we began to see real development. We now have customers coast to coast and are still growing. Some of that can be credited to great service and products, some to advertising outside the customer base, but to give credit where credit is due, I would like to thank our customers for their return business, as well as giving us the best advertisement possible: word of mouth! |
